Overview
Birds, fish, cats and sleeping faces fold into one another across a textured teal ground. Most of them have their eyes closed, carried along by the same slow current, with flashes of pale yellow in every beak and fin. Up in the top corner, half hidden, one small figure with glasses is wide awake, looking in.

THE idea
The second chapter of The External Observer. The first piece was about standing outside a moment; this one brings the painting to life around the watcher. The crowd dreams, and the observer keeps watch, close enough to see everything but never quite part of it.
