OVERVIEW

Full-can illustration for Noodoo, a fictional range of non-alcoholic nootropic drinks, created for the Inkygoodness "28-day packaging challenge". A brief set by Rhythm Studio, a Bristol, UK-based creative studio. The task was to bring each can to life across three sparkling flavours: Blood Orange, Blueberry and Lime.

THE BRIEF

Rhythm Studio's brief asked for three pieces of artwork for three different drinks. Each can needed to feel on-brand and evoke its flavour, so the three read as distinctly different at a glance, but stay similar enough to belong together as one family of products on the same shelf.

THE CONCEPT

Each can carries a different scene, with figures and creatures placed in landscapes that hint at the flavour. The colour palette was restricted, so I used different hatching to create more depth. The line-work stays consistent across the range, but the palette shifts entirely from can to can, so the set reads as one hand and three moods: Blood Orange, Blueberry, Lime. The can illustrations are designed to work singularly as well as together: the three cans create a triptych of one continuous illustration.

THE OUTCOME

Three cans that look great alone and stronger lined up together: a family of objects held together by one drawing hand, inside a real packaging brief.
